Which planet is liara on in mass effect

The elevator screeches to a halt, so you must exit it and go down the broken platforms near a forcefield. Behind this forcefield is a floating asari. You can initiate a conversation with her once you get close enough.

She asks who you are and you can answer her questions as you like. You discover that this is indeed who you are searching for. Liara T'Soni is trapped in a Prothean security device when she tried to protect herself from the geth, but she must have pressed something she wasn't supposed to, so she needs your assistance to get out.

You can ask about Matriarch Benezia , but she claims she hasn't talked to her mother in years. When you have all the information you need, she says that the console next to her will disable the field. She can't think of a way past the barriers so you will have to go do it instead. Liara also warns that there are more geth being led by a krogan. Once you regain control turn around and head down the catwalks to the left.

In the pit below are some more geth:. Insanity Tip: You won't have a problem here unless you take a rocket in the face or get one-shotted by the sniper. The sniper often stays way back where he has an excellent line of sight to get some nasty tricksy shots in, so be careful when you walk out from behind a rock. Consider sending your squad ahead to flush him out. Once all these are down head to the back of the pit to recover a weapons locker and a storage locker from the tents in the back, there will be only one in each tent.

Once you have the loot head over to the terminal next to the mining laser and enter the code:. Once you enter the code, a short cutscene will play showing the laser burrowing into the ground and creating a tunnel to allow you to get past the barrier curtains. You need to talk to Liara to disable the console. You can ask again about Benezia, if you didn't before.

A tremor in the mine then occurs, which Liara attributes to the ruins' instability and that the mining laser must have triggered a seismic event. You will tell Joker to get the Normandy over to the ruins as quickly as he can make it. There is an auto-save here if you have it turned on, then the elevator will rise to the highest level.

Just when you think you are free, you arrive at the top level to a stand-off with a krogan and some geth. You can answer him any way you like but no matter your choices it will always lead to a fight. If the mission is done early, this fight can be extremely difficult.

The Battlemaster in particular is the one enemy that you should beware the most, as he can massacre you and your team in one or two hits once he starts charging. The battlefield is a circular room with very few places to hide in. The pillar to the southwest can provide cover from most of the geth and the Battlemaster.

Warning: Each pillar occasionally releases a cloud of steam which will damage characters huddled against it, however. Interposing the pillar between Shepard and the enemies without getting formally into cover is one way to mitigate this effect. Note: In Mass Effect Legendary Edition additional crates have been added to the field, providing more obstacles against the Battlemaster's rampage and against geth weapons in general.

First take out the Shock Trooper on the other side of the room. Then, quickly turn around as the second Shock Trooper will approach behind you. Be wary, the geth can flank your team easily in this room. The Sniper will normally remain put where it spawns. Also consider putting something tough and nasty like a Shock Trooper into Stasis if you have it to keep the early numbers down. Don't worry about the Battlemaster yet because he won't start aggressively closing range and charging until most or all of the Geth are down.

Once a couple of geth are down, make an effort to flush the sniper out of his hiding place before the Battlemaster starts charging, as fleeing from the Battlemaster while under sniper fire gets pretty dicey. Once all geth are taken out, or the sniper is the only one left, the Battlemaster will usually charge right at you. Be alert for this moment as he can take out the whole squad within a matter of seconds. Lift is probably the most dramatic ability in this combat, because if deployed when the krogan is charging he will go flying across the room away from you with all his momentum, and if deployed when he is almost dead will allow you to prevent him from regenerating.

If the squad has insufficient crowd control capabilities, then keep on the move, and run and gun. Be careful because like all krogan if he is not killed in the air, the Battlemaster gets a second life once his HP is depleted.

Try to either kill him in the air, or blast him as soon as he falls. Once the last enemy falls, a cutscene shows the squad and Liara waiting at the barriers. Another shake drops them and they start running.

The ruins are collapsing around the squad as they make for the exit. They only stop once they are out of the ruins, and the Normandy is hovering above them.

Joker welcomes Shepard and the squad back to the Normandy with more than a bit of sarcasm, and you can voice your opinion on that. Kaidan gets to the point and asks about Liara's connection to Saren. She has no idea what Saren is doing, although she knows something about the Conduit that he's looking for since Prothean archaeology's her expertise. She has spent 50 years doing research on the Protheans, and again you can react how you see fit.

Liara then goes on to relay some of her discoveries, culminating in her theory of a recurrent galactic extinction in which the Protheans were only the latest to disappear. You have two opportunities to interject on this line of conversation, then you can tell her in three different ways the Reapers had something to do with it based on the vision from Eden Prime.

Liara then calls Shepard "remarkably strong-willed" for having survived an interface designed for Protheans. Ashley grows impatient and steers the topic back to Saren and the Conduit, and Liara reiterates she cannot help in those two things. However, she claims her Prothean knowledge might be useful later on, and she deems the Normandy a safe place should Saren come after her again. She grows tired from "mental exhaustion", signifying the end of the debrief.

If you already finished Feros this conversation will be interesting. After a few questions Liara offers to link her mind with Shepard's to try to make sense of the vision. The joining doesn't produce any results and Liara gets tired. Dismiss the crew and you can choose to talk to the Citadel Council. If you do, you can choose to respond to their questions in whatever way. In short order, they have security concerns about Liara, and the turian Councilor questions the destruction of a Prothean site.

Once you are done with the Council, then continue with the game. Whichever the case, you now have Liara as a squadmate, and can configure her loadout and talents in the appropriate places elsewhere. If this mission is left until last after even Virmire , Liara's reactions are very different. Down in the Prothean ruin, she refuses to believe Shepard and the team aren't a hallucination until they actually release her from the energy bubble, claiming that she's just conjuring up a protective figure like a Spectre to stop herself from going mad.

You'll largely be making your way down various roads in the Mako, taking out different enemies along the way. Once you've finally made your way into the Prothean Ruins, you'll find Liara trapped inside a Prothean barrier and she'll need your help to get out. Go down a level, defeat the enemies, and that interact with the Mining Laser Controls. This will open up a new pathway for you to get up to Liara and free her, then after some more enemies have been defeated, you can return to the Normandy and invite Liara to join your crew.

Meg appreciates gaming on all formats but primarily spends her time achievement hunting. Where is Liara T'Soni? Liara is located at some Prothean ruins inside a volcano on the planet Therum.

To reach her, Shepard and their squad will need to deal with many extremely powerful Geth both while inside and outside the Mako. Then, they will need to find a way to get past some barrier curtains and free her before Saren's minions reach her. Here's how to rescue and recruit Liara in Mass Effect. Though they won't receive specifics, Shepard will be able to deduce the correct planet due to its Prothean ruins.

They will need to travel to the Knossos system in the Artemis Tau Cluster and find the planet Therum. To reach the ruins, Shepard will need to drive the Mako around the molten lava on the planet and deal with Geth, including massive Geth Armatures and a Geth Colossus.

The Mako cannot touch the lava, or it will result in a critical mission failure for Shepard and the team. Additionally, players should note that they can use the Mako's artillery to soften some of the Geth and completely eliminate the Armature classes, but they will always receive more XP from kills made outside the Mako.

One strategy might be to wear Geth down with the Mako's guns first, then hop out and finish the job on foot. It is a good idea to save frequently, particularly between fights, as enemies in this mission tend to be difficult to overcome early in the game. It may be a good idea for Shepard to bring Tali along on this mission, as her hacking and sabotage abilities can be extremely useful when taking on synthetics like the Geth.
