Where is ragefire chasm wow
The instance is directly across the room. I also did this very early in the morning so I didn't have to encounter any angry Horde players. Once inside dungeon run south and around the U shape back up. Then head South East and kill Taragaman the Hungerer in the center for the four lava ponds. Enjoy your Ragefire Chasm achievement and good luck getting Classic Dungeonmaster achievement!
Comment by Thottbot In the Cleft of Shadow. It's a big foggy portal, takes you in. Quick note, if you run away from something in there, its likely it'll wait at the zone for you, so be ready to go back in fighting.
Comment by Thottbot wait long enough and they'll go away. Comment by Thottbot what level should you be to solo this instance? Comment by Thottbot 1. Varimathras in Lady Sylvanis's Chamber in Undercity gives one. Neeru Fireblade right outside the instance gives one. Some1 on the elder rise of Thunder Bluff gives 2 quests he is not in the main tent on the elder rise, is in a smaller one. Comment by Thottbot For those who are wondering around what level you can be to solo this, I soloed it with my 27 Warrior.
Given this is my first time playing a warrior, I am sure people can do it at a lower level than this. On a few mobs I had to pot simply because I didn't play it right.
I ended up getting gold from the greens in the AH and took 45 minutes to an hour killing everything in the instance. Comment by Thottbot Those blues you saw drop were random world drops, like the Butcher for example.
Comment by Thottbot Probably It doesnt really matter really since its such a low uncomplex instance. If your gonna go at 11 or 12 then you might want a group of lvl 15s or 16s at least. Comment by Thottbot what is lowest lvl 2 get in rfc? Comment by Thottbot Yes Due to the patch this intance now drops some niffty blues Comment by Thottbot yo and the blues are under 15 now so thats awsome. Please bump this. Comment by Thottbot Just a quick comment for people who want to farm this place for enchanting it drops mainly strange dust but can drop has thing disenchantable to reciev small glimmering shards and some other things a great place for beggining enchanters my first run i recieved 15 starnge dust which helped me a good deal.
Comment by Thottbot Hello. I'm Groklah, the level 37 Orc Shaman that some of you may have or have not encountered. I'm here to tell you about how to conquer the Ragefire Chasm. It's the easiest instance in the game, allowing players to go in by the level of 8.
However, the suggested level is Many of you will have fun times with your friends during this first instance! However, due to it's relative position in the Horde city of Orgrimmar, it's considered Horde-only.
This will introduce players to the instance system. I'm here to do just that! Let's start. At first, the enemies will be very simple. Level maybe even 14 Earthborer worms and at least one Lava Elemental are around the starting area. The Earthborers can hit like a truck, and they have an even worse trick Earthborer Acid that works like Sunder Armor.
It stacked onto me about 3 times, and the armor reduced is absurd. It may even cause nature damage! This means doom for clothies, so keep them tanked at all times. The acid is only annoying to guys with mail. The Elemental doesn't do very much. He just smashes the earth with his fists trying to do actual damage to you.
Take him out with a tank. There will be another Earthborer to the right, and one just up the path. Use a tank to destroy them, and protect the clothies. Remember, you can't dispel the acid at least in no form that I know of , so that doubles the trouble. Take them down the same you did with the previous four. There will be one Shaman patrolling up and down, so rest and buff.
Take down the patrolling Shaman with little difficulty, as long as he doesn't pull anyone else. Move onto the large army next. Troggs hit like hell, and are difficult to take down.
You'll need as much damage as you can dish out. Off-tanks will be useful here, but protect your softer at all costs. If a shaman wearing cloth or weak leather is your only healer and he dies, this may spell doom upon your party.
The key to this is to keep as many softer targets as you can alive. There will be Troggs on either side of the passageway when you kill the initial wave.
You may undoubtedly pull them, unaware that you have, so rest and buff before attacking. There will also be Troggs in the middle, though there's only one every 15 feet or so. Make Trogg blood splatter on the ground, and make sure they aren't your healer's blood. Comment by ultrapaint56 update note of interest: this is now available to alliance through he lfg tool early as level 15? Comment by Cjisme In the Expansion: Mists of Pandaria the Ragefire Chasm will be getting a facelift in many parts of the zone including new bosses and new quests, including some new mechanics to the area.
Comment by Rano In the upcoming expansion,Mists of Pandaria, Ragefire Chasm will be involved in Garrosh Hellscream's "corruption arc" and fall from grace culminating in the Siege of Orgrimmar in the expansions final patch. Comment by Takata I just soloed the whole instance on my Blood elf prot warrior lvl Non twink.
He only has some green iron armor and a few quest armor items on. Even Taragaman and Bazzalan who have about hp weren't that tough. They got me down to only about half way before I killed them.
Just used Sunder Armor 3x, rend, Tclap and shield slam for every enemy. Once in a while I used HS and cleave. Comment by Severage If you're farming this place for Swiftness Potion recipe, don't waste your time looting the golems and worms, unless you're looking for linen or a different drop. It seems the Searing Blade mobs and Ragefire Troggs have the highest and possibly the only drop rates for it.
The drop rates are terrible, so check the AH frequently as well for some. Happy hunting. Comment by homiebrah Have to say, the new look is interesting. Seems the run time is a lot shorter. Troggs are now roadkill for the Dark Shamans. Wicked looking lava boss. Comment by jaxsonbateman Thanks to the 5. In fact, the only daunting bit was having to run out after killing one mob of a three pull at the start due to limited kiting room at that point. Throw in the fact that you can Holy Shock yourself now and then for full health, and you're in business.
In terms of the individual bosses - the first doesn't give you a huge amount of room to kite, but even if he closes on you he seems to only really use a frontal cone fire attack which doesn't do much damage and you can move out of, thus kiting him back to his starting point after reaching the entrance.
The second was a simple kite and kill. Avoid his shadow blasts; you can see where they'll land. The third boss I thought would make the solo impossible Because you don't need to kite, this was actually the easiest boss. The final boss seems faster than normal, and can gimp your run speed with his earth spike ability - but even so, he never closes for long enough to put you in danger. Given that you've got virtually the whole instance to kite through at that point, it should be a cakewalk.
Of course, it's much faster and easier as a group - but if you have an insanely long queue like I did, give it a try! It felt really rewarding afterwards, even though I know it's a by-product of how insane HS is atm. While it's still potentially possible, the major damage reduction of Holy Shock at lower levels means it'd at the very least take a lot longer, which could cause problems with the early pulls which don't give a lot of room to kite.
Comment by MickMaster01 Is ragefire still good for linen farming with all the mob changes? Comment by Evangelism Somewhat easily solo-able by a pandaren prot warrior. Though you can always run and bandage "Like I did" when he does Shadow Storm. Good luck and happy hunting :D. Comment by Zxcccccccccccc While farming for Ceremonial Leather Gloves on my Alliance mage, I found Greater Invisibility to be invaluable--both for initially getting into the instance, but also for resetting.
Cast just before you exit, reset the dungeon, and re-enter without aggroing the guards. Land somewhere safe behind a building, anywhere so long as you can't be seen. Make sure your pet is either Dismissed or, if applicable, also Stealthed.
Dismissed is preferable Activate your Glyph-enhanced Camouflage ability and start toward the dungeon entrance. Where you originally land will obviously determine how long and therefore how many Camouflage activations you'll need, so remember to use Readiness if something goes pear-shaped. Trust me, because I am not that good as a priest maybe I got better It may be possible to solo at a lower level.
I never lost a lot of health where I didn't have time to heal myself on any of the NPCs, and did not even try to avoid any of their abilities. Psyfiend may be helpful when pulling the three NPCs near the bosses.
It is a pretty straightforward easy dungeon now! Good luck, and have fun keeping all the loot to yourself! I know I did! Comment by zxj4k3xz great xp farming at lvl 10! Comment by worthit Just a little info You can enter this dungeon on foot at lvl You can queue this dungeon as specific dungeon lvl In the specific dungeon finder, this dungeon is yellow difficulty lvl and green difficulty lvl You can queue this dungeon as random dungeon lvl You have to be lvl 15 to obtain the quests.
See more in this guide. Comment by I just corpse hopped thru Orgrimmar and it wouldn't let me zone into Ragefire. Just ran at the haze like a stone wall while they killed me a few more times. NElf Rogue lvl Most of the instance under Org will be in the new city like complex of the Underhold Which part of the original Ragefire is connected, along with the Cleft of Shadows.
One of the Maps shows the first segment of the classic Instance. Trail to the First Boss That links to the new area at the side which has a new entrance further into the actual Underhold, an what looks to be the chamber that General Nazgrim will be likely confronted in. Its slightly remade but looks to be nearly identical to the first part of this Map.
Including that tiny tunnel that leads to a dead end near the start It is unknown at this time if it will be filled with mobs or simply a area between maps or not. I am interested to see how it looks in the upcoming raid an how this area of Ragefire plays out an its involvement in the Raid is. Comment by Aviatrixx Wowhead really needs to update the final boss thing to the right.. Comment by Elementalkin The two reoccurring "floods" of lava found within the dungeon are effectively non-lethal, only dealing 50 damage per second while you stand in them.
You can't avoid the first one while it's active unless you have a skill such as Blink or Disengage , but you CAN just walk around the second one by hugging the right side. It doesn't really matter either way though, as the damage is irrelevant. The only true risk they pose is to stealth users. The static pools of lava, like the big caldera in the main chamber where Slagmaw is, work differently. It's easy enough to avoid, but should you fall in for some reason, there are ledges you can swim to in order to get out.
Assuming you had full HP, you'll have roughly 21 seconds to do so. Comment by Kataclysia I love the changes they made to this dungeon in Mists. It made this dungeon more fun to run on a low level toon. When I make a toon I look forward to level 15 so I can run this short and fun dungeon.
Comment by gbalkam I think blizzard needs to make a portal to enter this dungeon in stormwind for alliance, since a horde can just walk in and get the gear drops and be totally OP in low level bgs. It is an unfair advantage yet another unfair advantage given by blizzard to horde players. MY money is just as good as a horde players money, it spends the same and pays the developers salaries, just the same, so why is it they are favoring one faction over another at low level.
This isn't a big deal for those leveling, but there are some that twink at level , and blizzard heavily favors horde for this. While, yes, there are mats you can obtain essential to professions such as Linen Cloth for tailoring , and greens for disenchanting or selling on the AH, it's just so There's no skinning involved.
No stray herbs. No stray mining nodes. No mobs you can skin. It's a gold-run for maybe lower level toons, instead of the higher levels.
Outrunner's Cloak. Bloodspattered Gloves x2. Feral Bindings. Aboriginal Sash. Ancestral Tunic. Grizzly Jerkin. Shadow Wand. Twin-Bladed Axe x2. Staunch Hammer. Ceremonial Buckler. Pattern: Dark Leather Tunic 3 were gems: Shadowgem x2. Still, for three runs, that's a fair amount of cloth. Comment by Auryan Per the forums there is a bug where the last boss doesn't spawn and the questgiver NPCs don't move up to the end of the dungeon like they usually do.
I've been trying to find the entrance using all the discussions here, but i'm just not getting it. I keep getting attacked by lvl 's Yea, I'm a weak lvl hunter. I just want to get the achievements done. Comment by FoxyOwl So I'm writing this in as a new player. This dungeon now scales up to level Older posts stating players in their 20s can solo are no longer accurate. I hope this helps. I'm level 82 now and I was able to solo as a shadow priest with no issues.
The bosses are so just be prepared. Comment by TerribleAtGames I officially give up reaching this instance the classic way. Being a lvl Gnome Warlock and reading the comments here, I thought it would be doable. Started flying around above Orgrimmar and decided to land fully clothed. Was lucky and landed close to the western entrance of Cleft of Shadow. Ran like hell in, and got killed. Resurrected, got naked, and got killed once more at the other end of the tunnel, and I actually had the instance opening within the sight.
Went back in, resurrected on an edge at the right wall, and ran above the dent roofs on my way. Was oneshooted only metres from the instance entrance, and hoped that the following corpse run would be my last. It was only the beginning Resurrected at the entrance and tried do run in.
It wouldn't let me in, and I was oneshooted again. Tried the following time to walk some metres from the entrance and toward it again. Was killed before I made it to the entrance.
Then I tested if I at all could be safe standing with my back touching the instance entrance who wouldn't let me in, and the answer came out negative. During my last attempt did I resurrected at the graveyard and tried to reach the instance on my flying mount, all geared up. Went down towards the cave between the flying patrols, and was oneshooted as I flew in. If Chromie Time is enabled, Ragefire Chasm's level range is , but can only be queued if you're using Chromie Time on the Cataclysm expansion.
Check more information on Chromie Time in our guide! Adarogg — Ragefire Chasm's trogg population has rapidly declined in recent months for one reason: Adarogg. This ravenous flame hound was among the first of his kind ripped from the Firelands by dark shaman. Adarogg's handlers feed the unruly beast over twice his weight in trogg flesh per day to keep him appeased. Dark Shaman Koranthal — Koranthal has always believed that brute force is the only way to control Azeroth's elementals.
His extreme views led him to join the ranks of the sinister Twilight's Hammer. Learn how to time those backup heals so they are actually useful and not a waste of mana. And you will save your group many times. Analyze your group setup and try to get the best out of it for every situation. It is a form of crowd control. The answer is: a LOT. After entering the instance, there is only one way to go, for a quite a while, until you see the beginning of the two routes on map actually.
Until you reach that fork, the pulls are pretty standard, mostly solo, sometimes two mobs per pull. Feel free to try out the group basics for Assisting and Crowd Control on the way. To Maur Grimtotem: skip this paragraph if you already did this quest.
Take the first path on your right following green route , and clear your way up until you reach a little cavern. On the floor will be lying Maur Grimtotem , but before you talk to him, look in the back of this cave, there is a named elite, Oggleflint , kill it first.
When that is done, talk to Maur Grimtotem to complete the quest. When you are done, go back where you came from to the big room and take the Yellow route, towards the Leaders of the Searing Blade.
Before reaching Taragaman you will reach a large area, which is made of bridges interlacing with each others, over lava. This is when you will start seeing Searing Blade members, which are mostly orcs. At this point, you must really start pulling carefully, and using your group efficiency at best, because pulls are now getting heavy. On top of that, there are a few patrols roaming in between mob camps.
So watch out for those. After clearing the way, you will meet Taragaman , aka the Beast. Oggleflint will be the first boss you encounter. Oggleflint is a Level 16 elite Trogg that is located to the right of the large Trogg room. The strategy for Oggleflint is pretty simple and easy if the mechanics are followed.
Oggleflint has 2 Troggs in his room, so you will need to make sure to Crowd Control CC at least one of the Troggs before attempting to engage Oggleflint.
At the start of the fight, allow the tank to pick up the other Trogg and face Oggleflint away from group to avoid Cleave. DPS will need to be focused on burning down the first Trogg before switching to attack Oggleflint. After Oggleflint has fallen, remember to burn down the CC-ed Trogg before continuing the dungeon. Taragaman the Hungerer is the second boss of the instance.
Taragaman is a Level 16 elite demon that can be found in the center of the second to last room. The area that holds this particular boss is made of bridges that interlace with each other over a large pool of lava. Before beginning the encounter, it is advised to clear the trash mobs that are not only in the 4 corners of the room, but also those that patrol the area.
After clearing all the trash, you can begin to make your way to the center of the room. When starting the fight, make sure that your tank pulls him away from the edges of the area so that his knockback, Uppercut , does not knock the tank or ranged off of the platform.
Taragaman also has an AoE spell, Fire Nova , so make sure that any ranged players are at max range to receive minimal damage. This boss can be difficult for those who are new to the game and learning how mechanics can work. If you have the quest pertaining to this boss, you will be able to pick up the quest item once Taragaman has been defeated. Jergosh the Invoker is a Level 16 Orc Warlock that is located in the final room of the instance.
Like Oggleflint, Jergosh has two mobs that are with him and one should be CC-ed while the other is burned down, before switching to Jergosh. Jergosh will have two abilities, which are Immolate and Curse of Weakness. These two abilities can be a bit of an issue for tanks wanting to generate threat and it will be an intense fight for healers.
If you are careful and work through the fight together, this boss should be another easy encounter for you and your party. Bazzalan is the last boss encounter of the dungeon. Bazzalan is a Level 16 elite Satyr located on the upper ramp near the end of the instance. Bazzalan has two abilities, Sinister Strike and Deadly Poison. Just like the previous bosses, Bazzalan is surrounded by two Searing Blade Cultist s. The Cultist on the left can be aggroed without engaging the boss or the other Cultist.
It is best to CC the Cultist on the right so that the party can focus on burning down Bazzalan, as he deals a significant amount of single-target damage. If done correctly, this boss should be an easy win for you.
